BREVARD COUNTY, FL – A man who allegedly broke into a car dealership and stole money from the safe within was taken into custody after falling through the ceiling in an attempt to escape.
According to Click Orlando, police arrived at Boniface Hiers Chrysler Dodge Jeep at about 5:45 a.m. Monday and immediately noticed signs that a forced entry had taken place.
Officials saw the suspect attempting to hide in the ceiling of one of the back offices. While police were coaxing the man to come down, he came crashing through, falling to the ground with wads of cash coming out of his pockets.
Police say the man almost got away with $33,800 in cash. He was also in possession of a .22 caliber revolver at the time of the arrest.
The suspect is currently facing charges related to grand theft, armed burglary, and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
